Gospel

Luke 11:27-28

While Jesus was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him “Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.” He replied, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Sermon

My brothers and sisters in Christ, today's Gospel reading presents Jesus' response to a woman's blessing. He shifts the focus from physical relationships to spiritual ones.

The Woman's Blessing:

- Exalts Jesus' earthly origins

- Emphasizes physical connection

Jesus' Response:

- Redirects focus to spiritual relationships

- Highlights hearing and obeying God's Word

Implications for Us:

- True blessings come from spiritual connections

- Hearing God's Word is not enough; obedience is required

- Faith is more than sentiment; it's action

Conclusion:

May we prioritize hearing and obeying God's Word.

Reflection Questions:

1. What does it mean to "hear" God's Word?

2. How do you obey God's Word in daily life?

3. What distracts you from spiritual focus?

May God bless you as you deepen your relationship with Him.
